Practical guide for Supervisors using the Harvest App to collect data out in the field
1. PROPERTY Select property & block/blocks that you’ll be picking that day (option to select one at a time as you go)
2. EMPLOYEES (essentially crew setup) If your pickers are associated with different barcodes each day, go into Employees and ensure they have been assigned the correct barcode. If their barcodes don’t change, you don’t need to do this step on a daily basis. You can also create new pickers/employees in here rather than having to do it in the back office.
3. CREW (essentially crew sign in) Select crew who will be completing picking. This is necessary if you want to track hours of individuals. Select apply. Select More, ‘sign all in’. Ability to adjust time back if needed. Note point #7 below - you must remember to sign your crew out at the end of the day to that the correct total hours are recorded for your pickers.
4. TEAMS ability to group together a crew of individual pickers which will allow you to manage them as a team (e.g. assign them against a bin in harvest section) rather than individually.
5. HARVEST ensure date and time is correct (it will default to current time).
- Scan bin card (or enter manually)
- Check the bin type is correct. List will be whatever we have set up in back office.
- If needed, adjust % bin filled
- If you’ve set up a team, select this from your list. Alternatively, scan or select picker/pickers. In back office, this will allocate a third of the bin to each of them with what they’ve picked.
- Select Done, and a new record will be saved.
6. SUMMARY On the main harvest screen, you’ll now see a summary of the completed bin with bin #, card #, block and variety.
7. REPORTS bin totals by picker, teams, contractors and blocks for the selected date. This is a great way to see live time how your team are tracking for the day.
8. CREW It’s important to sign the crew out at the end of the day.
