PREDEFINED GROWTH STAGES

Modified E-L

Eight major growth stages are listed on the Modified E-L (Eichhorn-Lorenz) all growers should generally record: bud burst, shoots reaching 10 cm, flowering begins, flowering, setting, berries pea size, véraison and harvest.

Extended BBCH

BBCH (Biologische Bundesanstalt, Bundessortenamt und Chemische Industrie) scale is a system for uniform coding of growth stages which has been widely used for describing phenological stages of plants. The basic BBCH scale is represented by two digits signifying principal and secondary stages.

HOW TO RECORD GROWTH STAGES

There are two ways to record your vine growth stages in GrowData. 

1. Via the Phenological Diary

Enter your Growth stages by going into Enter Data > Phenological Diary. Enter the date, block and select the Growth Stage from the list. You can also add in any extra comments/observations.

This will produce the following report: 

2. Via Spray records. 

Go to Enter Data > Spray Diary, and when selecting blocks, select the Growth Stage from the list. 

Click 'Apply Spray to Blocks', and this will apply that Growth stage to all blocks you've selected within that spray record. If you need to alter this for certain blocks, double click on the block and select 'Change Growth Stage for this Block'. The list of Growth stages will appear, you can then double click on the applicable option and it'll change it in your Spray Record for that block. 

When you add Growth Stages to your spray records, this will also appear on your Spray Diary report:
