1.08 Chemical & Fertilizer Setup

Create any Chemicals & Fertilizers that you use in block applications

Here's a quick video to explain how to setup new Chemicals and Fertilizers:

We highly recommend completing all fields highlighted in red below, as they contribute to other areas and calculations in GrowData:

What each field means:

Chemical

This is the name of the chemical that will appear in selection lists and reports. We recommend including the brand name or whatever is on the label so that it's easy for operators to identify.

Type

Select the type of chemical you're entering. This is a required field for chemicals to appear in instruction sheets, and it'll also allow you to report by chemical types.

Price Per Kg/L

This is only required if you're tracking costs in GrowData. Add in a default cost per Kg/L so that when the chemcial is used, the associated cost will be recognised.
Note: We understand that prices fluctuate, so you can record more accurate pricing through the Purchasing tab, however we still recommend putting a default in the chemical setup to get you started.

Active Ingredient

Put the Active in this field, so that it appears in your Spray Diary reports and other chemical reports.

Last Updated

You don't need to enter anything in this field, this is simply a timestamp record of when this chemical was last updated.

Rate

Enter in a dilute rate for the chemical, this is what will appear as a default when you go to create a new spray record (you will have the ability to edit this if you need to). Be sure to convert grams to kilos or mils to litres, as this field only accepts kilos and litres. This field will only accept numbers.

If you do concentrate sprays, we still recommend adding in the dilute rate here (you'll be able to do concentrate sprays in your spray diary)

Maximum Rate

This is an optional field. If you add in a maximum rate, and exceed this when creating a spray record you'll be alerted (but not restricted).

Kgs or Lts per Ha OR Kgs or Lts per 100 Litres

Select how the chemical is applied - per hectare or per 100L

Solid OR Liquid

Select how the chemical is applied - solid or liquid

Withholding Period

If the chemical has a withholding period, you can enter it into this field to receive alerts if the WHP is breached when creating a spray record. This can be overridden and it won't restrict you from using the product, it's here as a precaution.

Note: the system compares the WHP to the 'earliest pick date' setup in your Crops.

Re-entry

This is an optional field if you wish to record re-entry period for this chemical

Resistance Group 1 & 2

This is an optional field, and will allow you to pull reports based on chemical resistance groups. Double click into this field to create options on the selection list.

Poison Schedule

This is an optional field

Tick box to discontinue use

If you need to deactivate a chemical, simply tick this box. Do not try to delete out all of the chemical details as this will cause blank records to appear in selection lists, and you'll lose historical data associated with this chemical. Ticking the box means it won't appear as an option to select from, and you'll maintain historical records.

Batch Number Required

This field is obsolete and due to be removed, this can be ignored.

MSDS Expiry Date

Enter expiry dates for safety data sheets in here, to receive a popup reminder the month it's due to expire. This acts as a handy reminder to keep your SDS up to date.

Crop Registration

This is an optional field

Element % Weight

This is relevant for Fertilizers only, and is critical for you to be able to track nutrient applications. Whenever the fertilizer is used, the element percentages will be calculated, and represented in reports.

Notes

Optional field, this does not pull through into any reporting or production areas
